What We Do
MANNA aims to support the Anglican churches in Mozambique & Angola in 4 main areas: Community Development, Church Growth, Partnership and Cornerstone. Read on to discover more about these areas of focus.
Supporting home-grown church community development, education & health projects are some of the best ways to impact extreme poverty. Over the years MANNA has supported and worked with churches, communities and Dioceses to grow a wide range of community projects from schools, clinics, health programmes to emergency programmes and trauma healing work. The churches in Mozambique & Angola are growing fast. In 2022, these four Dioceses multiplied to become twelve and a new province – IAMA (Igreja Anglicana de Mocambique e Angola). This is a huge undertaking and MANNA seeks to support this church growth with resources, training, buildings and more. Click here to find out how we do this and donate below.
Working together with a wide variety of partners to support the Anglican communities in Mozambique & Angola means we can do more and and do it better. Partnership matters. A lot of work we are doing behind the scenes is collaboration with not just the Dioceses and churches but also other partners across Europe, USA, Africa and in the UK. We work closely with ALMA, the Diocese of London companion link that also supports the Anglican church in Mozambique and Angola. Find out more and donate below.
This is the hardest area of our work to articulate and often the hardest area to raise funds for as it is largely hidden in the background. Churches and Dioceses have a daily struggle to find core costs. These are things like paying salaries, fixing vehicles and rebuilding destroyed churches from climate emergencies, amongst a huge list of needs. These needs are the cornerstone of the Diocese’s work and when these needs are met, churches are enabled to focus on mission & ministry in their communities.
