This wonderful photo was taken at the end of January, when the Diocese of Niassa came together to pray, decide on and elect their new Bishop. At the end of this weekend, they had not come to a decision and so they decided to defer the decision to the Southern African Synod of Bishops. The Synod then met a few weeks later and they too did not come to a decision.
So, the waiting in Niassa for the next Bishop continues…..
In the meantime, we pray for the Synod of Bishops who shall meet again in September, for discernment for the right person and for the diocese as a whole as life continues.
