The Anglican Diocese of Nampula has a strong Anglican church and community in the rural Chiure district, south of Pemba in Cabo Delgado. Last April the Primary school that was established by the Anglican church was destroyed by Cyclone Kenneth.
Since the cyclone, the community have built a small makeshift shelter for it’s 700 pupils but they need a new resilient school. The Anglican diocese has been active in the area, bringing food & emergency supplies in the first few weeks, then books for the school and they are now planning to rebuild homes and finally the school.
Can you help? The final budget is in the region of £58,000: this is to build a new weather resilient school for 700 pupils, latrines, an administration block and a new clean water borehole. We are working in partnership with ALMA and Teddington Parish & School. So far c. £35,000 has been raised. Can you help us?
